Let's talk
A football-themed activation built around World Cup excitement, running sampling and engagement across two high-footfall malls in Saudi Arabia.
| Mall | Sessions | Samples | Contacts | Gifts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Red Sea Mall | 3 | 7,718 | 8,460 | 987 |
| Granda Mall | 3 | 7,956 | 9,120 | 996 |
| Total | 6 | 15,674 | 17,580 | 1,983 |
World Cup season puts football in front of everyone, but attention in a mall is short. The brief was to turn that shared excitement into something people would actually stop for — and then convert that stop into a product trial rather than a passing glance.
We built a football-themed stand and ran engagement activities alongside the sampling, with branded giveaways as the reward for taking part. Three brands ran together on the same footprint, so a single visit carried the full range rather than a single product.
Across six sessions the campaign averaged 2,612 samples and 2,930 contacts per session, with 1.12 contacts for every sample handed out — the engagement activity was reaching more people than it was sampling.
Both venues performed within a narrow band of each other. Granda Mall took the higher reach at 9,120 contacts and 238 more samples, while Red Sea Mall converted a slightly higher share of its visitors into giveaway redemptions.
Ritz Pizza was the clear preference, taking just over half of everything distributed.
Premium items — footballs and jerseys — were held back as engagement rewards rather than handed out freely.
The football setup pulled footfall toward the stand on its own, before any approach was made. Consumers engaged readily with the activities when a branded giveaway was attached, and the themed environment gave promoters an easier opening than a standard sampling table would have.
